As an entrepreneur the strongest and weakest muscle that you have is your brain. Weakest because an untrained mind can be the greatest obstacle for you to achieve your potential and strongest because a well-trained mind can be your greatest asset in getting what you want.Entrepreneurial, entrepreneur, Entrepreneureship, Entrepreneurs

Every successful individual is acutely aware of this idea, but what separates them from the ones that toil on the edges of failure is the consistent effort to improve their mindset and elevate their consciousness to a state that empowers them towards the path of success. And it is not always about learning technical skills that may give you an advantage in the market place, in my opinion, success is predicated much more on the mindset, the awareness and level of consciousness one lives with.Entrepreneurial

Having a mindset that is driven by these factors will seek out and create opportunities where there were none. It helps one see the possibilities that are available to us all and that the greatest obstacles that we face are created by none other than ourselves.Entrepreneurial

There are several resources out there to help you exercise this most important muscle in your body. The internet is definitely a great resource but cautions must be taken in filtering information from the internet and absorbing it as part of your self development process.

By far the best source of inspirational, informational and transformational information are books. Books are intensely scrutinized by peer reviews and editors that make every effort to bring only the best content. So without further adue, I want to share my top 3 books that I believe are a must read to raise the entrepreneurial consciousness:Entrepreneurial, entrepreneur, Entrepreneureship, Entrepreneurs

1. Mindset by Carol Dweck: In this book Carol Dweck introduced the concept of the fixed and growth mindset. She explains how it is not just our talent and abilities that are bring us success but how we approach them and our belief about them. This belief can either limit our success or enables our potential, making the difference between a life of excellence or mediocrity. It shapes our self-esteem, our creativity, our resilience, our perception on challenges and our ability to progress.

A fixed mindset comes from the belief that your abilities are set in stone, whereas a growth mindset comes from the belief your basic qualities are things you can cultivate through effort. Carol Dweck, Ph.D., is one of the world’s leading researchers in the field of motivation and is the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology at Stanford University. She is author of several books including Self-Theories. Watch her TED talk about the power of believing that you can improve.

2. The Lean Start-Up by Eric Ries: Although this book is written under the context of technology start-ups the principles discussed here are applicable to any business. Eric Ries defines a startup as an “organization dedicated to creating something new under conditions of extreme uncertainty.” The size of the start-ups is irrelevant, from one person in basement garage to a well-funded tech start-up, this dedication remains true.Entrepreneurial, entrepreneur, Entrepreneureship, Entrepreneurs

What start-up founders have in common is standing in the face of unshakable uncertainty and creating the path to a successful business. He talks about the human elements that are necessary for the success of start-ups and more often than not it is not the idea behind the start-up that determines a win it is the people behind it. Eric Ries is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and author recognized for pioneering the lean startup movement, a business strategy which directs startup companies to allocate their resources as efficiently as possible.Entrepreneurial, entrepreneur, Entrepreneureship, Entrepreneurs

3. The Charge by Brendon Buchard: This book although a New York Times Bestseller might be a little less known. In The Charge, Brendon discusses the 10 human drives that make us feel alive and how to activate them. He argues that in the hyper connected world we must re-examine the

simple basic human needs that have been forgotten. The drive to be connected and cared for among others. It’s a book about how to design a conscious existence to live your best life, enjoy the journey, and realize your full potential.   It’s a book that reminds you that you were born for something more. It’s a book that makes your soul sing, and challenges you to bring out your best, in all arenas of your life.  Your life is your self-expression.Brendon Buchard is a world renowned motivational speaker and bestselling author.
